The NRA Show has officially come to a close and as we take a look back at the conference, we recognize how important this show is to not only emerging restaurant technology and innovations but the restaurant industry as a whole. As this was the centennial year for the show, it’s apparent just walking through the halls how much this show shapes the past, present, and future of restaurants.
In our booth, we created an interactive display for attendees to walk up and get a live look at our intuitive product suite built for enterprise restaurants, whether it’s quick service or fine dining, and everything in between. We had two self-service kiosks on display with our menu-driven interface, Appetize Interact, alongside point of sale terminals and handheld POS devices showcasing our quick-service and table-service functionality, Activate, and our robust Kitchen Display Systems.
Aside from the live demos taking place in the Appetize booth, members of the team hosted a Tech Talk in the Innovation Theater titled, The Cloud-Shift: Increasing Guest Satisfaction with Omnichannel Ordering. Our VP of Sales, Brian Whitney, served as moderator to the panel with our Chief Strategy Officer, Kevin Anderson, VP of IT for Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Marina O’Rourke, and VP of Technology for e15 Group and Levy, Bo Osacky.
The discussion gave valuable insights into the future of technology for restaurants, and how restaurants must upgrade to cloud-based, omnichannel technology to stay competitive in the ever-changing market. From artificial intelligence and the battle of minimum wage increases to self-service technology, the future of the restaurant industry is more high-tech than ever before.
We’ve already started the planning process for next year’s show as we’ve locked in an even larger booth in the coveted Tech Pavilion. Mark your calendars for May 2020!
