Self-service kiosks are taking all industries by storm, and the numbers prove it: 45% of guests abandon concession lines because of wait times and 56% want to use a mobile app to order items. It’s simple, restaurant guests don’t like to wait in long lines for their food. Kiosks reduce wait times and drastically improve customer satisfaction. In addition, order sizes increase by 20% when guests have the ability to order on their own. And, self ordering kiosks never forget to upsell. A study with McDonalds found a 30% increase in average check size and 20% more customers ordered a drink when offered.
Omni-Channel is the ability to offer different methods of ordering and payment to consumers. This is extremely important for restaurants because guests want fast and easy transactions. So, restaurants need to give them options! Various Point of Sale form factors like self-service kiosks, handheld devices, tableside ordering, and mobile ordering provide that seamless experience for guests.
